The draw cards of Iceland have been piling up ever since I started photography. The Icelandic highlands provided the perfect backdrop to drop a knee and propose to my now fiancé. The perpetual sunshine dulled to an eerie glow around 2am and the tourists had cleared out from the most popular destinations. This allowed me freedom to shoot empty landscapes and connect with the powerful energy of the place. Driving for an hour took me through pristine snowfields, rolling green hills, past glacial lakes and thundering waterfalls, and past burning rock – truly the land of fire and ice.
